Diatomaceous Earth Filters
Diatomaceous earth filters
Diatomaceous earth pool filters are a type of filter that is characterized by the use of a naturally occurring filter material called diatoms. Diatoms are a type of microscopic algae found in water that has a unique silicon structure that allows it to retain very small particles of dirt and other impurities.
Diatomaceous filters for swimming pools have several advantages. First, they are very efficient at removing very small particles, such as dust or fine dirt. Secondly, they are natural and contain no chemicals, which makes them safe for the environment and for the people using the pool. In addition, diatomaceous earth pool filters are durable and require little maintenance, as diatoms can be used for several filtration cycles.
The diatoms used in pool filtration systems are fossils of marine origin, with a great diversity of shapes, which favor the retention of particles in suspension and therefore increase their performance, also known as diatomaceous earth.
The diatomaceous earth filters are not the most known and widespread type of filtering media to purify the pool water since this privilege has been won by sand filters, cartridge filters or glass filters.
