The sale of removable (or above ground) pools has skyrocketed in recent times, and more and more people are deciding to buy this type of pool due to its ease of assembly and the fact of not needing works. If you are thinking of buying one and do not know what aspects you should consider for installation, in today's post we show you how to prepare the ground to install your removable pool correctly.

NOTE: valid for removable pools of steel, wood, composite, canvas, ... of all brands (Gre, Iaso, Intex, Bestway, ...).

INSTALLATION OF A REMOVABLE SWIMMING POOL

Next, and to be able to carry out an optimal installation of your swimming pool, we list 3 basic procedures that you will have to carry out: the marking, the levelling of the ground and its finishing.

Previously, however, you will have to take into account several aspects to choose the final location where to install the pool:

- You will have to choose an area as firm and smooth as possible; and in which you will have to do less work (excavations, earthworks, ...) to level the ground.

- Choose a non-floodable area (with rain).

- An area protected from the wind.

- No trees too close to avoid dirtying the pool with leaves, pollen, ...

- Sunny area as much as possible, to get a pleasant water temperature.

- Near an electrical outlet, water and a drain. In case there is not one, you will have to take it into account and equip the area.

1. THE MARKING

Once you have chosen the location where you will install the pool, you must proceed to the marking of the pool. To do this you have 2 options:

- Prepare a concrete sub-base of the necessary size according to the dimensions of your removable pool.

- Directly on the ground and with the help of four stakes and a rope, you will have to draw the shape of the pool. Once this process is done, you will draw its outline with a stakeout spray (or a funnel and flour).

2. LEVELING THE GROUND

Now, in this second step, you must level the ground correctly. You must pay attention to this point and dedicate the necessary time. Its correct installation will depend on it.

To level the space on which you will place your pool, you will remove the topsoil, digging at least 20 centimeters of soil. You will have to remove and clean the ground of possible stones, roots and any other type of element. It is important to level the ground by digging where there is excess soil, never adding soil.

3. FINAL FINISHING

The final point of the installation, and especially if you are going to install the above ground pool directly on the ground, it is important to spread a thin layer of sifted sand on the ground, water it and compact it with the help of a garden roller. Then check that everything is level. If, on the other hand, you prefer to install the pool on a concrete base on the ground, the sand should be poured and compacted beforehand.
